We are glad to offer our Back-to-School Program again this year to help families prepare for the upcoming school year. Through this program, eligible families will be able to “shop” for free school supplies for their registered children.

  • Applications must be received by Friday, July 17th.

  • Applications are date-stamped when received, and appointments are scheduled in that order (earliest to latest).

  • Each family will be assigned a specific day and time to shop. Appointments are required. School supply distribution will take place on July 27,28, and 29 at We Care of Grundy County. Once your application has been processed you will receive a phone call to set appointment time.

  • Applications must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will not be processed.

  • The applicant must be the custodial parent or legal guardian and must be the one to pick up supplies.

  • Households must be Grundy County residents and meet income guidelines (under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level).

  • Program is open to K–12 students for the upcoming school year.

  • One application per household. Supplies will be provided only for children listed on the application.

  • No holds or early pickups.

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may need to be rescheduled. Supplies are available while they last.

  • If an appointment is missed, the household will be rescheduled to the next available time after all other scheduled families.

  • Supplies are donated items. We may not have everything on your list, but we will do our best to help.

  • Required documents: Photo ID (Head of Household); Address Verification (current utility bill); Proof of household income for the past 30 days (all adults)

  • The first 200 eligible children will receive Operation St. Nick — $200 per child for clothing and shoes at Walmart.
