CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE
We Care is announcing its Adopt-A Family program for 2026. We realize that Christmas can be a source of worry and stress if you are already struggling. We are here to help.
Who Do We Help?
Adopt-a-Family is an income-based Christmas assistance program for struggling Grundy County families. Applications will be taken during the dates and times below. If you are in need of help, please plan to attend one of these days and bring the following required documentation:
DOCUMENTATION CHECKLIST
Photo ID for the Head of Household
Proof of Residency (ComEd, Nicor or Water bill from last 30 days)
Proof of custody of the children (social security cards/birth certificate)
Proof of ALL household income for 30 days
If child is 18, proof of High School Registration
Gift list for each child & clothing/shoe styles (MOST IMPORTANT)
This program is for all children birth through high school senior. Must be custodial parent/guardian. Please note: Assistance may be limited and applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. We encourage families who need assistance to apply as early as possible.
